IGXE is a large virtual currency company founded in 2001 currently based out of China. They started on ebay and launched their website in 2004. Originally the company was based out of Hong Kong and Canada, but since acquiring a large Chinese virtual currency company in 2006 they have moved their main base of operations to China. Their central office is in Chongqing, China and from the pictures we saw is quiet modern and advanced.

Purchasing

The purchasing process is rather standard. You select the game and currency you wish to purchase currency on and then add it to your cart. You then check out and either create a new account or log in if you are an existing user. IGXE often runs a series of discounts and always seems to have a coupon somewhere on their website, so make sure you watch for promotions and browse through the website before purchasing.

During the checkout you select between three different delivery methods, face-to-face, auction house, or mail system. The auction house method is setup every well and provides easy to follow instructions and we appreciate the fact that they offer multiple methods of delivery.

Once you enter in your contact information you can choose via Paypal (credit card processing), Money Order, Wire Transfer, or Moneybookers. We liked that they included a confirmation screen before you were sent to the payment screen (which doesn’t include all of your order details) to make sure you didn’t make any clerical errors.

After ordering you will receive further instructions depending on what delivery method you chose and will receive a phone call to confirm your order. If you create an account you will be eligible for a customer loyalty program. They also provide a convenient system on the website for tracking the status of your order at any time.

Customer Service

The average live chat response time was seventeen minutes. This is much higher than the industry average and is unacceptable. Once the chat started however the customer service agent was fairly responsive and for the most part continued to stay with me. Sometimes responses would take up to a minute, but most of the time they were under 30 seconds. However, the initial wait time was way too long.

The English was surprisingly good in our test studies which shows that IGXE must have improved their customer service representatives recently as previous reports indicated that they had awful English skills. The chat representative told me they were located in Canada, but that obviously wasn’t true (they may have a small office/post office in Canada, but the customer support center was obviously located in China). When I asked for an address I was told that they could not give me one.

IGXE claims to provide phone support and a telephone number and unlike other virtual currency providers they actually picked up the phone when I called (and in under three rings too!). Unfortunately the telephone number was obviously an awful VOIP service connected to someplace in China. It was extremely difficult to hear and communicate and the customer service agent had trouble understanding what I was saying or answering any of my simple questions. After a few minutes of trying to ask a few basic questions I gave up and hung up. Although it’s nice that someone did pick up a phone, it’s absolutely useless due to language and technological barriers.

Delivery

We like that IGXE offers multiple delivery options. They recommend that you use the Auction House method or the Face-to-Face method as they claim that the mailbox method is a bit dangerous and the gold may be taken by Blizzard before it arrives in your mailbox (and the gold system has an hour delay).

IGXE is a large company and can be counted to deliver your currency. They claim to delivery all currency (unless it is over 4,000 gold) in under twenty four hours and if it is 4,000-8,000 in under forty eight hours. We found that the average delivery time was around twelve hours although this time varied widely as on many servers they had our currency in stock (check with live chat before hand) in which case we received our currency in less than two hours. However, when they were out of stock it took them around twenty hours. Either way the vast majority of your time if you are buying around 1,000 gold you should have it within a day.

Conclusion

IGXE is a large currency supplier and will generally provide a reliable service. IGXE is another currency seller based in China with below average customer support and decent as-long-as-you-don’t-have-a-problem service. They’re a large player in the currency market and can be depended on to deliver on their promises.

The main complaint with IGXE is the same complaint that most of the front runners have: Poor English and slow customer support if you have a problem.

For these companies, however, no mistake goes punished and IGXE is just as viable as any other large currency supplier.
