GameRates Full Review

Launching in 2004 Guy4Game became a force in 2006. This is partly a response to a weak IGE during 2006 and early 2007 allowing some of the smaller players convert dissatisfied customers. With IGE regaining hold of the empire it once dominated Guy4Game has competed by offering superior customer service and a wide variety of custom services that go above and beyond mere virtual currency. Guy4Game is based out of Canada with over 150 employees worldwide and an alleged customer base of over 100,000.

Purchasing

The Guy4Game Website is clear and easy to navigate with an extensive FAQ. It offers a number of payment options for customers all over the world. The purchasing is generally straight-forward and they give you a quick courtesy call to make sure that your details check out and to prevent fraud.

Some of the prose and wording on the site is a bit awkward for alleged English-speaking Canadians This just means that the people writing the news on the site, and the people running customers service are different teams. It's a minor annoyance, but we we wish Guy4Game would have the CS team copyedit some of the site news. 

Customer Service

Guy4Game has excellent customer service. The chat representatives speak fluent English and are based out of Canada. Furthermore, they have a toll free number that you can call anytime between 10am and 6pm EST M-F. The chat representative I talked to was pleasant and quickly able to answer my questions and unlike some other chat representatives didn’t seem like they had anything to hide (such as not telling you where they are located, or what their phone number is, etc.).

The average wait time to speak to a live representative online was less than a minute and in most cases nearly instant. Interesting enough Guy4Game has been known to send out real (as in you can touch it real!) Christmas cards (with a special discount coupon of course) to the majority of their customer base which was a nice touch. It just goes to show that they aren’t trying to hide anything (such as being incorporated on a remote island (IGE) or third world country).

Delivery

Guy4Game has one of the quickest delivery systems for small and large orders alike.

2009 Update: They now have a 24 hour guarntee: Either the virtual currency in your hands in 24 hours, or they give you a bonus 25% of gold. Really, this is never a problem for normal size orders, but sometimes it can take them a bit longer for really large purchases. We found the average delivery time for small orders was under an hour, although larger purchases can take up to 18. In our tests we had one larger order go over 24 hours (it took 31 to be exact) and we got a hefty 25% in bonus gold, which made us wish they took a bit longer on our other orders!

Conclusion

Guy4Game is a great company. They are one of the few suppliers to proudly display a toll free number and what’s more it is staffed by a friendly English speaking Canadian staff. Their online staff answers chat requests in under a minute and are both friendly and productive. In short their customer service is superb.

2009 Update: Guy4game no longer uses an "item equivalent" delivery strategy and is back to delivering "straight cash" (in the form of virtual currency of course!). They also have a new 24 hour guarantee (or your money back) that they actually stick to. As such we have upgraded their ranking.
