GameRates Full Review
BankofWow generally has very competitive prices and is fairly reliable. As far as Chinese currency companies go, it’s also well regarded.
When compared to other game currency companies, Bank Of Wow is tiny and has little history – which is good thing considering the rockstar-like plummet and bizarre past events of companies like IGE. This could change quickly, but where I’m sitting right now, this is a safe buy.
Purchasing

The purchasing process is rather standard. It’s not pretty, but it’s easy to use and it works. Bank of WoW only offers one payment service and that is credit card processing through Paypal. They also have an interesting point system that serves as a customer reward program. It makes an already cheap service even cheaper in the long run.
Payment options are limited, but most people have a credit card and it isn’t necessary for 95% of customers to have ten different payment options for a simple virtual currency purchase.
Note: For whatever weird reason Bank of WoW does not accept characters with the letter “I” in them so if your character name has an “I” in it, then you need to create a new character without an “I” in it to receive the gold.
Customer Service

Customer service was surprisingly decent. Average response times for live chat were under a minute, although responses often took thirty to forty seconds. The English was not the best around, but it wasn’t hard to understand and communication was clear. Furthermore, after talking to the chat agent for a while he started to open up and was quick to steer away from scripted positions and opened up about the internal workings of the business. This was a definite plus as many companies are not willing to do that.
What really surprised us was that they offered a toll free number. Sure, we called the number and the first two times that we called it seemed there was a connection problem and our call got dropped but the third time we got through (and didn’t have to wait either). However, it was a bit difficult communicating as it was obvious that the support agents English was rather limited and the connection was horrible, but at least they tried. They also told us that they were located in New York, New York. Could you pick a more obvious fake location? Of course they wouldn’t tell us where in New York, what part of town, and when I asked if they liked the Mets or the Yankees the support agent was completely baffled.
We don’t care where you are from as long as you provide decent support and deliver on time. We just really wish you’d quit lying to us and honestly thinking that we’d fall for it.
Customer support obviously is minimal, but for a gold purchase as long as they deliver the gold it isn’t usually necessary.
Delivery

BankofWoW claims that almost all (96%) of their gold is delivered within twenty four hours. Furthermore, they claim that 30% is delivered within three hours, 80% within twelve hours, 96% within twenty four hours, 3.5% took over twenty four hours, and 0.5% was refunded. Our tests and research indicated that these self-published and unverified statistics were at least plausibly accurate. Our average test order took about six hours which clearly falls into this range. We also noted that at the time of this article they had over a 95% rating on BizRating which seems to indicate that they have on time delivery.
The actual method of delivery is rather unique as well as it involves the auctionhouse. You put up some cheap items at ridiculous prices in the auctioushouse and notify BankofWoW who then will at some point send a customer service agent to purchase those items. Although it’s rather laughable that BankofWoW claims to “copyright” this delivery method (which companies have been using since the EverQuest player vendor bazaar in Shadows of Luclin) we did find it much easier than companies that force you to do a face-to-face trade. They even give you customer loyalty points to make up for the slight percent that the Auction House takes out of the transaction.
We also like that BankofWoW makes the bold claim that they do not carry an inventory and denounces any gold sellers that claim they do. They make the truthful claim that they are forced to continuously gather the gold the second an order arrives and have a constant chain distributing to customers using a just-in-time inventory model. It’s simply too dangerous to store large quantities of gold on farmers accounts due to the risk of a farming/holding account getting banned.
Conclusion

The thing to consider isn’t the cost of the transaction, but the speed and reliability of the delivery. Currently, both these aspects are favorable and they have the cheapest gold available. If BankofWoW continues its reputation as the cheapest WOW gold seller, it will undoubtedly grow. Growth generally leads to decline with companies like these, but perhaps they can break that trend. It’s the top low cost gold provider available.
